The Galaxea R1 Lite is a dual-arm, wheeled mobile manipulation platform designed as an accessible entry point for education, research, and cost-sensitive robotics labs. Standing 1,281 mm tall and weighing 55 kg with battery, it's equipped with two Galaxea A1X robotic arms and two Galaxea G1 grippers, delivering flexible grasping and manipulation across a broad workspace.

With 23 total degrees of freedom — 6 DOF chassis, 3 DOF torso, and 7 DOF per arm with gripper — the R1 Lite covers a vertical operating range of 0 to 1.7 m, supported by a torso that lifts, lowers, and translates, and a chassis capable of Ackermann, translation, and spin motion. Each arm delivers a rated payload of 3 kg (max 5 kg) at 0.6 m reach, with high-precision, high-torque planetary motors across all six arm joints for independent variable-speed operation.

Perception comes from a platform-mounted HD binocular camera, two optional wrist-mounted monocular depth cameras, and IMUs on the torso and chassis, all powered by an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32GB module delivering 200 TOPS of AI compute. The R1 Lite supports isomorphic teleoperation via the companion R1 Lite-T device for precise synchronisation and simple data collection — the same platform used by Stanford's AI lab in developing the BEHAVIOR Robot Suite and π0.5 policy training.
