Product Description

The Noetix Bumi is a compact, consumer-priced bipedal humanoid robot from Beijing-based Noetix Robotics, designed to bring true legged locomotion to classrooms, makerspaces, and homes at a price point previously reserved for wheeled toys. Standing 98 cm tall and weighing approximately 17 kg, Bumi delivers stable walking, dynamic dance routines, voice interaction, and a full graphical programming environment in a kid-sized chassis that's safe to handle and easy to transport.

Bumi gained international attention as one of four Chinese humanoid robots featured in China's 2026 Spring Festival Gala — performing live alongside human actors in front of an audience of over 700 million viewers — validating the platform's reliability for unscripted real-world interaction. It is positioned as the entry point into Noetix's humanoid lineup, sharing the same N-shaped TIX joint architecture as the company's larger N2 robot (which finished second in the world's first humanoid half-marathon).

Key Features

  • Lightweight, friendly form factor — 98 cm tall, 17 kg, designed to be approachable for children and easy for one person to lift and carry.
  • 21 degrees of freedom — 6 DoF per leg, 4 DoF per arm, 1 DoF waist, plus styled hands. Enough articulation for expressive whole-body motion and dance.
  • Force-controlled joint modules — proprietary Noetix actuators with up to 70 N·m peak knee torque, enabling stable bipedal walking and dynamic recovery.
  • Structured-light depth camera + IMU — onboard perception suite for environmental awareness and balance.
  • 6 TOPS base compute with optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin (Nano Super on EDU-Pro, Orin NX on EDU-Max) for advanced embodied-AI workloads.
  • Quick-release 48 V / 3.5 Ah smart battery — 2–3 hours of runtime per charge, hot-swappable for continuous classroom use.
  • 0.5 m/s top walking speed with autonomous stand-up and lie-down recovery.
  • Open development — graphical drag-and-drop programming, mobile app control, voice module, and (Pro/Max/EDU tiers) full upper-level motion control SDK for secondary development.
  • Built-in action library — manual teaching, low-dynamic and high-dynamic dance, and Spring Festival edition choreography across higher tiers.

Consumer

  • Lite — Entry tier. Manual teaching, mobile app, Wi-Fi + PDA communication, autonomous stand-up/lie-down. Best for first-time users and basic demos.
  • Air — Adds low-dynamic dance, voice module, and Wi-Fi + Bluetooth. Best for family entertainment and beginner education.
  • Pro — Adds audiobook content, graphical programming platform, smart OTA updates, and image transmission. Best for STEM classrooms and hobbyist developers.
  • Max — Adds 4G/5G module, high-dynamic dance, and full upper-level secondary development access. Best for advanced developers and demonstration units that need to run untethered..

Education

  • EDU-Air — Education-grade Air with full Max-tier action library (manual teaching, low/high-dynamic dance, Spring Festival choreography), 4G/5G, voice, and full upper-level SDK access. Entry into the developer line.
  • EDU-Pro — Adds NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super high-compute module to EDU-Air. For embodied-AI research and advanced behavior development.
  • EDU-Max — Top of the lineup. Adds NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX compute module — the most capable Bumi for university research and advanced embodied-AI workloads.
